Experimental working stand for electric and hybrid car drive research was projected in the Research Centre JB at the Technical University in Prague. Recuperative system with supercapacitor forms an integral part of it. This system is able to accept the overflowing electric energy of the vehicle and regenerate it during next speeding up.Available from STL Prague, CZ / NTK - National Technical LibrarySIGLECZCzech Republi

The goal of the PhD program was to develop innovative X-ray optic elements based on the modified replication technology. The X-ray reflecting foils and the square mirror cells represent the basic elements required for the construction of the one- and two-dimensional X-ray optics of the Lobster Eye type. The development of the double-sided X-ray reflecting foils was supported by the grant of the US-Czech Science and Technology Program, Project No. 93037 (1993 - 1996). The PhD work has been carried out in the laboratories of the Department of Physical Engineering of the Czech Technical University, Faculty of Nuclear Science, in collaboration with the Astronomical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the CR in Ondrejov. The prototypes of the Lobster Eye X-ray objectives have been developed in collaboration with the Optical Development Workshop of the Academy of Sciences of the CR in Trutnov. The main goal of the PhD dissertation was to develop and to test both in optical light as well as in X-rays the optical assembly of the wide-field space telescope for monitoring of X-ray transients of astrophysical origin. In addition, the results of the Czech-UK research project for the development of a microfocussing X-ray objective for compact laboratory microsources (25 W Cu-40 kV) are outlined. The device is considered for the International Space Station (ISS).Available from STL Prague, CZ / NTK - National Technical LibrarySIGLECZCzech Republi

The thesis deals with urban drainage. In the theoretical part of the thesis information from literature sources has been summarized about the rainfall-runoff process. A new determination of urban drainage goals are discussed. These goals has arisen in recent period in connection with the fast development of computers and with application of numeric models on different engineering tasks. Sewage networks and urban areas have been monitored and described and conceptions concerning this task have been defined and influence of urbanisation on urban drainage evaluated. Urbanisation mainly influences the quality of rainfall and draining of rainwater, which is described further. Another parts of the thesis are focused on deceleration of rainwater draining, real-time control of the system, numeric models and safety and reliability of a sewage network. The experimental part of the thesis deals with hydraulic modelling in an urban area including the town of Kosmonosy and a part of the town of Mlada Boleslav. This urban area represents the catchment of the Waste Water Treatment Plant II. The sewage system in this area is 48 km long. The receiving water course is the Jizera river.Available from STL Prague, CZ / NTK - National Technical LibrarySIGLECZCzech Republi

    Searching subsequences.

The thesis deals with the subsequence matching problem. We describe two approaches: preprocessing a pattern and preprocessing a text. Preprocessing a pattern involves building a searching automaton that searches for all non-overlapping occurrences of the given pattern. We consider the case of multiple patterns and present an algorithm for building an automaton that searches for all non-overlapping occurrences of each pattern from the set of patterns. Preprocessing a text consists of building an automaton which accepts all subsequences of the given text. Such automaton is called the Directed Acyclic Subsequence Graph (DASG). We present an incremental algorithm for building the DASG and use encoding to reduce the number of its transitions. We show how to modify the DASG if the text has been changed. Further, we consider the case of multiple texts and present two algorithms for building the DASG for the set of texts. The subsequence matching problem for a finite regular language is also mentioned. We describe a modification of the DASG for episode matching. We also show a correspondence between the searching automaton and the DASG.Available from STL Prague, CZ / NTK - National Technical LibrarySIGLECZCzech Republi

A measurement system and an associated processing signal for determining of the accurate instant angular speed of a crankshaft is presented in this PhD thesis. The used method is based on the recalculation of the angular velocity from intervals of passing marks, e.g. gear tooth on the flywheel, along a sensor. The detailed analysis of errors was carried out. Systematic errors are those of quantization due to the non-uniform distribution of the teeth along the flywheel circumference and due to the wear of them. Possibilities of their suppression are discussed, principles of suitable selection of the sensor arrangement in the relation to the measured marks are presented and an optimal alternative was chosen. The random errors are excited with the engine and sensor vibrations of different frequencies. An original method based on subtraction of the reference record from the measured record is used. The reference record is in ideal case a signal gained from the uniform rotational motion exerted by a foreign energy source. This ideal instant was realised in the practical form as the rotational motion of an engine with the zero fuel, when only centrifugal forces of the inertial masses and the compression pressures are present. This kind of the evaluation affords an essentially better accuracy. The possibility of using of non-dismantling diagnosis was proved by means of signals measured on a two-cylinder engine, with the crank turned through an angle of on which the representative defects in praxis usually occurred were simulated.Available from STL Prague, CZ / NTK - National Technical LibrarySIGLECZCzech Republi
